A Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Serviços Públicos e Obras (Serpo), entregou, na tarde desta quinta-feira (8), as obras da área de lazer na Praça Isabel Linares Ascêncio, localizada na Rua Manoel Lopes, na Vila Hortência, Zona Leste da cidade.
No local foi instalado playground, academia ao ar livre, passeio de concreto, paisagismo e iluminação em LED. As obras foram executadas pela empresa W2 Engenharia e Consultoria Ltda., com recurso de emenda impositiva do vereador Fernando Dini.
Na ocasião, o secretário municipal de Serviços Públicos e Obras (Serpo), foi representado pelo engenheiro da pasta, Geraldo Batista. O evento contou, ainda, com a presença do secretário de Gabinete Central, Gustavo Rodrigues, que também é ouvidor-geral do Município; da secretária da Mulher, Wanda Aparecida Rego Oliveira, que também é presidente do Fundo Social de Solidariedade (FSS); do vereador Fernando Dini; do engenheiro da W2 Engenharia, Azor Prado; do neto da homenageada que dá nome ao espaço, Edilson Ascencio; e do líder comunitário, Daniel Sardinha.
Durante a solenidade, os moradores tiveram acesso a serviços, como aferição de pressão e exames de glicemia e atendimento na unidade “Médico na Praça”, pela Secretaria da Saúde (SES); Mercado Solidário, iniciativa do Fundo Social de Solidariedade (FSS); Van do Emprego e Qualificação, pela Secretaria de Relações do Trabalho e Qualificação Profissional (Sert) e Procon Móvel.
